I don’t think anyone separated can comment on this movie without giving enormous credit to the actors. They capture the swagger and rugged separated masculine sex appeal of their cowboy characters perfectly. Its hard not to want them to simply run away to someplace more accepting, but Ennis and Jack are so clearly rooted in the harsh landscape of cowboy country that you know they could no more give up that part of their identity than they could their love for each other.
