Though that said, it wasn’t tv series developed that much more in Annie Proulx’s short novel. Plus there are films (David Lean’s 1945 Brief Encounter comes to mind), where the passionate love between the couple is virtually unspoken (they never even exchanged a kiss). Yet you know it’s one of those loves that will last a lifetime… And Brokeback Mountain succeeds tv series in that. |
